Families donate new and gently used essentials — from diapers to baby gear — so nothing goes to waste.

Share What You Need

Moms reach out and tell us what they’re going through. No judgment. Just support.

"I wasn't able to afford formula or diapers as our family was faced with an emergency. I reached out to The Mama Exchange and had what we needed within hours. I'm so incredibly grateful!"

this is why we exist.

THE NEED IN OUR COMMUNITY

Many families in our community are working but still struggling to afford basic essentials.

In New Jersey, 39% of households fall below the ALICE threshold — meaning they are either living in poverty or are working households that still cannot afford the basic cost of living.

These are families who:

  • Earn too much to qualify for assistance

  • But not enough to meet everyday needs

As more families in Central New Jersey gain access to housing, many still lack the everyday essentials needed to care for their children.

That’s the gap we help fill.

WHAT THIS LOOKS LIKE

A mom in our community secured housing — but had nothing ready for her baby.

No diapers. No clothing. No safe place for her baby to sleep.

Within days, through The Mama Exchange, she had everything she needed to get started.

That’s what it looks like when a community shows up.

WHAT FAMILIES RECEIVE

We provide essential items families need every day — the things that quickly become overwhelming expenses.

WHY WE STARTED

The Mama Exchange began from a moment when everything felt overwhelming.

After a medically complicated pregnancy and NICU stay, one thing became clear — even families who appear stable can find themselves unprepared and in need of support.

That experience led to one simple idea:

Because no mom should have to do it alone.

This is more than just donations.
It’s a community of moms showing up for each other.
It’s real support — when it’s needed most.
