She has played an essential role in shaping our programs, supporting community members, coordinating donations and giveaways, and helping guide the organization through every stage of its growth.
As Vice President, Nicole will work closely with our Founder and leadership team to help guide the organization’s strategic direction, strengthen community partnerships, oversee major initiatives, and ensure that every decision remains rooted in our mission. Her compassion, reliability, and unwavering commitment to the families we serve continue to make her an invaluable part of The Mama Exchange.
We are equally proud to announce Jennifer Gonda's promotion to Chief Operating Officer.
Jen has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, organization, thoughtfulness, and dedication to our mission. She brings a strong ability to turn ideas into action while ensuring that our programs and internal operations remain organized, effective, and centered around the needs of our community.
As Chief Operating Officer, Jen will oversee daily organizational operations, program implementation, team coordination, and the systems that allow The Mama Exchange to serve families efficiently and compassionately. Her leadership will help strengthen our foundation as we expand our programs, partnerships, and community impact.
Founder Nikki Desvousges shared, “Nicole and Jen have each made an extraordinary impact on The Mama Exchange. Nicole’s leadership has helped shape this organization from the very beginning, and her promotion to Vice President reflects the trust, vision, and dedication she brings to everything we do. Jen has shown the leadership, organization, and heart needed to guide our daily operations and help turn our goals into meaningful action. I am incredibly grateful to have both of them helping lead The Mama Exchange into its next chapter.”

The Mama Exchange Announces Leadership Promotions
We are proud to share that The Mama Exchange has been awarded Candid’s 2026 Platinum Seal of Transparency — the highest level of recognition for nonprofit transparency and accountability.
This distinction reflects our ongoing commitment to operating with openness, integrity, and measurable impact. From how we serve families to how we share our progress, we believe our community deserves full visibility into the work being done and the difference it makes.
Since our founding, The Mama Exchange has supported over 2,000 families across Central New Jersey, providing essential baby, maternity, and children’s items — completely free of charge. Through our community-driven model, we are often able to fulfill urgent needs within 48 hours, ensuring that moms and families receive support when they need it most.
Earning the Platinum Seal means that our organizational information, goals, and impact are publicly available and accessible — reinforcing the trust placed in us by our donors, partners, and the families we serve.
This recognition is not just ours — it belongs to our entire community. Every donation, every item shared, and every act of support helps make this work possible.
We remain committed to transparency, accountability, and our mission:
because no mom should do it alone.

Introducing Our Community Spotlight Series
At The Mama Exchange, everything we do begins with one simple belief — no mama should feel alone.
As our community continues to grow across Central New Jersey, we are proud to introduce a new initiative that reflects our heart and our commitment to serving families with intention.
The Community Spotlight Series is our ongoing initiative dedicated to highlighting, supporting, and uplifting families and communities throughout the year.
During select months, we will thoughtfully focus on causes, celebrations, and needs that impact the families we serve. These spotlights may include:
-
Educational awareness posts
-
Mission-aligned giveaways
-
Partnerships with local organizations
-
Small business highlights
-
Resource sharing for families
This series allows us to deepen our impact while staying rooted in our core mission — community care.
Why This Matters
The Mama Exchange supports hundreds of families, foster placements, local agencies, and daycares throughout Hunterdon and Somerset counties. Our community is diverse, resilient, and strong.
By intentionally dedicating time and attention to specific causes and communities, we ensure that every mama feels seen, valued, and supported.
Whether we are recognizing Women’s History Month, Mental Health Awareness Month, Diaper Need Awareness Week, Pride Month, or Native American Heritage Month, our focus remains the same:
Supporting families with dignity.
Providing essential resources.
Building connection and belonging.
What to Expect
The Community Spotlight Series will complement — not replace — our daily support efforts, donation drives, and ongoing programs.
You can expect meaningful content, thoughtful giveaways, and opportunities for our community to come together in new ways.
Because at The Mama Exchange, every mama matters — and every family deserves to feel supported.
